Be afraid…be very afraid

There is a whole collection of unscrupulous pseudo-lighting “experts” out there in the world that would love to take your money. Most of the electrician-folks that you meet have the best of intentions; they’ve often been in business for years; they have a legitimate business address; their desire is to provide top-rated service that is fullycompliant with the Electrical Code. Some of our best friends are our competitors!

Retrofitting

Unfortunately, every once in a while you’ll receive a “flat” or a brochure in the daily mail from “Elvin’s Alactrikal Axparts” who promise that by switching to LED lighting, you can light your home for a year using the power of one 75-watt light bulb. (Okay, a slight exaggeration, but they do tend to promise the world in order to get you to sign on the dotted line.)

Please stay away from these people! Installers that believe all LEDs are the same, or that “any LED will suffice”, are definitely not your friends. If they haven’t invested in the time, training, and continuing education to make themselves into true experts, then they have no business in your home.

Experts and Designers

If you have beautiful cabinetry, which is currently lit by conventional filament bulbs, you are already familiar with how frequently they burn out and need to be replaced. Sometimes in original installations there is a further problem with sight lines. The cabinets look great when you walk into the room, but as soon as you sit down in a chair or on a sofa or couch, ill-concealed bulbs start to blaze, and dazzle your eyes (but not in a good way).

When the experts from Illuminations Lighting Design say concealed lighting, we mean it. We have literally been doing this for decades and we are very, very good at it. Aside from the beautiful examples in our gallery, we would really appreciate it if you would take a moment to visit our testimonials page, and let our other clients persuade you with their own experiences!

Downlights, chandeliers, table lamps, track lighting…

Any fixture you own is amenable to being upgraded to LED lighting. Perhaps you’re thinking of under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen to rid yourself of ugly fluorescents with their unrealistic color rendering. Wouldn’t it be nice if carrots and tomatoes actually looked like what they are instead of a failed science experiment?

By selecting the correct Kelvin temperature (referring to color, not heat) your chandeliers that are just dripping with cut crystal will look just as stunning, or even better! Your casual table lamps will provide the proper amount of light for the location and the task, irrespective of whether it is general illumination, reading, or something else entirely. Even your track lighting can get rid of those power-hungry halogen bulbs, instead delivering light without the excessive ultraviolet (UV) which can be so damaging to your eyes.

Neither Hard Nor Easy

Simply being lighting experts is something that grows with the years. You know what will work; you know what will not work. When faced with a new challenge we can bring all our experience to bear on the problem and find a solution that satisfies. Familiarity of expertise is something that a Johnny-come-lately simply cannot match.

There are so many ways do a job incorrectly, so we urge you to call us, because… We’ll do it right!
